New arrivals needing names!

(September 10, 2011)

We woke up to find four very cheeky new faces this morning! Rachel guinea pig has given birth to four beautiful, healthy little piggies.

Rachel and babies

Rachel joined us two weeks ago on the brink of death. She is severly underweight and is suffering from a very severe mite infestation. When she arrived we did not believe that she would be able to survive to give birth to her babies. Therefore, we are absolutely delighted that our efforts to save her and her babies have paid off. Sadly Rachel is still very poorly. Although, we are very hopeful that with lots of care and attention we can bring her back to full health. After the birth she weighs half the weight of a healthy guinea pig!
