Turtle Power!
(June 08, 2010)Despite being a rabbit/rodent rescue Camp Nibble has several rescue turtles/terrapins in need of loving homes.
These fantastic creatures that can live for over thirty years are carelessly (and illegally) being released into the wild in great numbers. They are not well adapted to the UK climate and the impact they can have on native wildlife is serious.
Sadly once recaptured it is extremely difficult to find appropriate new homes for these turtles. They are therefore proving to be a great problem for rescue shelters.
Please think twice before releasing any pet into the wild!
