Happy Valentine's Day!

(February 14, 2021)

Rabbits are naturally sociable animals usually preferring to be in the company of other rabbits. It is becoming accepted by welfare organisations that most pet rabbits need a companion of their own kind for their welfare to be best met (there are occasional exceptions to this rule). Therefore, we would urge anyone considering taking on rabbits as pets to view them as an animal that should wherever possible be kept in at least neutered pairs.

As naturally territorial animals it is very important that any rabbit introductions are undertaken very carefully. It is recommended that all rabbits should be neutered prior to bonding (regardless of the combination of sexes). A neutered male/female mixed pairing is generally recommended. However, other neutered pairings, and groups are also possible (we keep our special needs sanctuary bunnies here in happily bonded compatible neutered groups).
