Turtles/Terrapins and Tortoises available for adoptionIf you would like to adopt any of the turtles or tortoises featured on this page please complete our adoption enquiry form.
Turtles are long lived animals. Before taking on a turtle please ensure that you are happy to make a commitment to that turtle of over thirty years! Many turtles are being abandoned and released into the wild after a few years once their owners have become bored with them or they no longer fit in with the decor! They are not adapted to the UK climate and can cause a serious disruption to native wildlife. Also, please take into account the potential adult size of the turtle species that you are adopting as large turtles need very large tanks! Some turtle species remain relatively small as adults so are more easily housed.
Thomas - is a handsome four year old male Yellow bellied slider turtle/terrapin. His shell is around seven inches in length from neck to tail. Thomas is looking for a new home as his owner has moved abroad. Thomas is looking for a new home with someone who understands that turtles are a long term commitment. His new owner must have an appropriately sized set up for him with all of the necessary accessories (filter, UV lighting, basking area, water heater).

Lisa - This amazing snake necked turtle was going to be killed by her owner when he moved abroad. Luckily a responsible friend of the owner came to her rescue and stepped in offering to find her somewhere to stay. Snake necked turtles are not readily available on the pet market in this country. Therefore, we are not re-homing her to a pet home. She will remain with us at Camp Nibble unless we are able to find her a better home at another sanctuary.
